Jennifer Lebedoff

Founder & CEO

Jen has been a creative masquerading as a Corporate CEO for decades. In her corporate life, she embodies an obsession for human and community development and a gift for seeing the best in people. You might say her actions prove this a passion. Outside work, she brings that energy as a community choir director, yoga teacher, recovery mentor and athletic coach. From a company podcast, a corporate training session disguised as a yoga or adventure retreat, or a leadership brainstorm that looks more like an improv sketch, your group will build cohesion, trust, skill, and most importantly, create memories they won’t forget. This nature girl loves permaculture gardening, hiking to mountain tops, and swimming in the river she lives on in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

Jen loves collaboration and lives by the “better together” mantra. She has enjoyed building Human Ideas with her son, Nick. They share an active vision of a more equitable world and started with the experience and talents they could apply to a social movement. Nick jumped in quickly after Human Ideas began, proving invaluable for defining the vision and researching to enhance and improve offerings.

Jen is a UBC Sauder School of Business graduate, an alumnus and presenter of The Ascend Leadership Experience. She has a quarter century of real estate experience as the former Broker/Owner of Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty and Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker Jane Hoffman Realty. In addition to her corporate experience, Jen has facilitated hundreds of recovery meetings, workshops and retreats, is a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor, and is the Founder of The Elder Flower, a retreat centre for women and non-binary folks recovering from substance use disorder.

Nicolas Bregolisse

Director of Communications & Research

Our in-house wordsmith grew up enraptured by the back-stories of lyrics in many genres of music, particularly old soul, hip-hop and even some you may not expect. This love of the word led him to a higher education in Communications and Publishing, graduating with distinction from Simon Fraser University.

Nick dedicates a lot of his time to personal development. He is an avid daily reader, gym goer, and meditator.

Nick saw firsthand the tenacity and mind-set required to lead an organization. He worked in the Summers between his semesters at school in his Mom’s company. That experience led to the revelation that their collaboration was synergistic, Jen bringing experience and wisdom to the table. In contrast, Nick developed his skills during his education and brings a keen understanding of social justice and popular culture, adding relevance to Jen’s BIG ideas.

Nicolas is a valuable collaborator at Human Ideas, he stretches ideas and puts a dream into words. He uses his talent to add evidence to theories, build on concepts and drill down on ideas. He’s always been curious about social change, and now he drives it. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, with his love, Deb Jerie.

Melissa Cook

Co-Creator, Embolden, & Director of Community Engagement

Melissa is a team player, and has built a life where that is evident. She also loves lists and is always inventing new ways to make something “make more sense”. She has headed real estate administration teams most of her working career, leading the Administration Team at Unison Jane Hoffman Realty, working on the administration team at Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty, and Re/Max Best Results Realty. She is excited to use her decades of experience to empower Real Estate Administrative Professionals as a course creator and mentor for Embolden.

Melissa lives with her husband Troy in Kelowna, BC. She loves getting out walking with her new knee, and can’t wait to return to the softball diamond to enjoy her other team passion.
